compassion: Today i was at Lake Eola and I noticed a man sitting on the grass talking to himself. Then another man walked by and started harassing him. Calling him crazy, disgusting, a disgrace. Telling him he needs to change his shirt and get a life. I was disgusted, so i spoke up. Told the bastard “Hey, leave him alone! Thats not nice!” Unfortunately he started yelling at me too so i just walked away. This man was sitting peacefully on the ground not bothering anyone, and he did not deserve to be berated and beilttled like that. No one does.

A while back while I was at Earth Fest, someone gave me a card(which I now use a bookmark) The card described how to be compassionate. It said focus on a complete stranger and say to yourself “Just like me, this person in seeking happiness in their life. Just like me, this person has known sadness or depression. Just like me, this person is trying to avoid suffering in their life.” I try to follow these principles.

oil cleansing method, 2 months: I am so happy with the results from washing my face with olive oil! I have been doing it for 2 months and my skin has gotten so clear. I used to have a ton of acne and breakouts, but mom said my skin looks like it did when i was a young child. I know it seems really weird to wash your face with oilve oil, but it really works.It removes the dirty oil from your skin and replaces it with clean oil, therefore cleansing your skin. You should try it.

wiccan ritual: There is a pagan meetup group i have recently joined. Each month, they have a ritual held in the leaders backyard, it was pretty cool. We lined up and one by one entered the circle. A girl sprayed some incense on me and asked, “How do you enter the circle?” and i was told im supposed to respond by saying “With perfect light and perfect love” Then we entered the circle and said some chants to each element invoking Aphrodite. They told us about her story. Which to me is just a greek myth but okay, i’ll go along with it. (I’m still an atheist) A girl walked around and sprinkled water on us. Then they passed around a jar of oil. We wiped the oil on our forehead and wrists while saying “This potion will protect me from all harm.” We meditated for about 15 minutes which i liked. We poured water into a bucket, which was supposedly cleansing the water or something. A girl walked around with a wet flower and tapped in our our forehead. Because we were celebrating the may full flower moon. There was also purple flower petals lain around the fire pit which was pretty. Some people walked around the circle giving us wine and cake and saying “May you never thirst. May you never hunger.” Then we said the chants to the elements saying goodbye to the gods and the ritual was over. We had potluck dinner which was great and vegetarian friendly. I pigged out :)

protest: I went to a protest called March Against Monsanto. Which is basically about how harmful genetically modified foods are. How bady they are affecting our health. And if they insist on making foods genetically modified, then they should at least label it GMO so we know what we are eating. And can decide if we want to put that in our body. The way things are now, alot of people dont even know what GMO or monsanto is and are unknowingly eating it, which is causing serious health issues such as diabtes and cancer. So one thing we can do is go organic, which is very expensive. Or you can check the labels. Some chemicals i remember are agent orange and apertaime. I know about aspertaime because my mom said that contributed to her Graves disease. It is found in sugar free gum i believe. Probably all artificial sweeteners. So folks do yourself a favor and stay away from artifical sweeteners!

okay well i got my real estate license. then i quit my telemarketing job of 2 years to work at subway. got fired from subway after 4 days and now im just plain old unemployed. if i dont find a job soon im gonna have to go back into telemarking and stay there for alittle while until i can save up enough money to start real estate. real estate has a large start up cost bcuz it is an investment. dammit, im so close to my goal but so far away. at least i have skills and am not on the street begging for money. but i do know what it feels like to be at rock bottom and thats why i have a lot of sympathy for homeless people i always try to help out when i have some loose dollars on me. maybe one day i will make a difference.

I finally quit my telemarting job of 2 years to work at subway, woot! now.i just have to save up some.money to.join the board of realtors. i moved down to.a really ghetto.part of orlando.bcuz it is.closer to.my.new job. ugh what a nightmare…i heard dozens of gunshots last night

so today for Saint Pattys Day, instead of getting drunk i decided to head down to Lakeland with my church for the Coalition of Immokalee Workers 200 mile march ending ceremony. so basically what thats about is the farm workers are greatly abused and Publix is the main offender. they dont get lunch breaks or water breaks and they stand outin the hot sun all day picking tomotos. the women get sexually abused out there in the fields and they dont get paid enough! these farm workers only get paid 50 cents for each 30 pund bucket they fill. they are begging for minimum wage. thats slavery!

so theres a program called the Fair Food Program in which companys such as grocery stores and fast food chains will only buy the tomatos if it adheres to the fair food guildines. stating that the workers must be treated fairly and be given at least minimum wage. these immokallee workers have been fighting for their rights for 15 years trying to end the abuse and get companies to sign on to the fair food program. so far, they succeeded in getting 11 companies to sign on. now they are going for Publix. since publix is florida’s top tomato buyer.

but no matter how hard they push, Publix wont budge. so to fight back, the Immokalee workers marched 200 miles to the publix headquarters. many orginizations walked with them. some people even left their job for 2 weeks to march and some people flew in from other states. their march finally ended today so there was a rally held in front of publix. correction, there was a rally held on the side of the road in front of the gate to the publix headquarters. there was security everywhere. they wouldnt let anyone through the gate. and they told us to keep off their grass or they will have a tresspassing order. doesnt sound like publix is really willing to cooperate. but oh well, i am going to continue in the fight with the coalition of immokalee workers until they do!

i am going to try one more radical extreme attempt at being natural. and that is the oil cleansing method. when you wash your face with oil, it gets rid of the dirty oil and replaces it with clean, fresh oil. resulting in a clean fresh face and getting rid of blackheads, acne, blemishes, etc. at least thats what i heard. so i am going to try it and see for myself.

what you need to do is fill a bottle half way with castor oil, and half with extra virgin olive oil. shake it up. put a quarter sized glob on your hand and massage it into your skin. the put a hot wet washcloth on a for a minute and wipe the oil off. as you know i have no access to hot water so i will be skipping the hot water.

guess what folks, IM FINALLY NATURAL!!!!

So i decided to start making some CHANGES! i like making changes and i like being sustainable. The town i live in is completely and utterly DISGUSTING! there is trash everywhere! i decided instead of complaining about it all the time i will finally do something about it. so i picked up the trash. i did it all day long ugh im exhausted. i used two grocery bags at a time, one for trash and one for recyclables. within ten minutes, both bags were full. thats how much trash is on the ground. i went behind a business plaza and it took me an hour to clean up there because there was cups, plates, and beer bottles everywhere. its like during peoples lunch break they just threw their trash into the bushes instead of throwing it in the dumpster which is directly behind their job. WTF! what were they doing out back by the woods anyway lol? surprised i didnt find any blunts on the ground.

i used my hands and had to bend over to pick up the trash, which makes me realize how useful those sticks are. you know, those sticks that they use to pick up trash with. the only other time i picked up trash in my life was back in high school. i had saturday detention for breaking dress code. the sarge asked what was hanging out? your butt or your belly? i said my skirt was too short. and he said oh your ass was hanging out! lol but it was a lie, it was really my belly that was hanging out ;) so we all picked up trash as a punishment but now that im 22, im picking up trash for fun! :) lol oh yeah my birthday came, did i post that? i dont remember. People just stared at me as though i was actually inside the dumpster lol. which i dont have any objections lol actually the dumpster is alot CLEANER than the ground. all those times i used to dumpster dive i only puked once. but out here i almost puked several times. i even picked up a dirty diaper, underwear and at one point i think i actually picked up POOP. ewww! but i feel good about giving back to the environment. even though its only a small portion of the town that got clean. in order to have more of an impact on the environment i would have to organize some sort of clean up group. or maybe i can find one that already exists. i could work with the community service juveniles and pick up trash with them! i will figure something out eventually. and believe me i WILL be the change i wish to see in the world.
